1. Preparation- Make sure your baby has a FULL tummy. This is very important!! If you have a hungry fussy baby you will most likely not get the shots from your photo shoot that you are looking for. To avoid this, if possible try to feed your baby 5-10 minutes before you arrive. If you are not nursing or uncomfortable nursing with others around bring a bottle, or I can provide a private place for you to nurse your baby. Babies tend to get hungry often when they are first born. All you mom's out there are saying "Yes I know, I feel like thats all I do right now!" I am very patient and usually give myself an open day to do your pictures. I am not in a hurry so do not feel rushed! If you need to rock your baby and feed them so they can be happy, by all means DO IT! I want your pictures to look great also. If I have to wait till they are ready I will!

2. Clothing/Blankets- Solid colors!!! I cannot stress this enough. Solid blankets, onesies, hats anything you bring if it is not a solid make sure it is somewhat simple. If it has a pattern maybe do stripes. Mainly try to stay away from plaids and patterns that are too busy or have logos. To be safe though try to stick with solid! Did I say you should have solid colors yet?:) Receiving blankets are great! They are light weight and you can wrap them up tight without them looking like they are a huge ball. Always try to have a white one, then whatever other colors you like. Once again try to stay away from the little bunnies hopping around on the blanket. Just keep it simple. Solid colors also help with making your photos not look so outdated in a year from now. Mom and dad, if you want to be in the photos bring a long sleeve black and white shirt.

3. Miscellaneous Advice- It probably is not a good idea to give your baby a bath the day of pictures. It can make them upset, and make their skin more flaky. Upsetting them may make a rash show up. Try to bring some baby lotion if their skin is flaky so we can put some on during pictures. (I will mostly likely have baby lotion)

4. Accessories/Props- I love accessories! You would already know that though if you read my other "Tips" section. Once again hats, flowers, bows, necklaces, and chunky jewelry are great.... for girls:) Boys we should probably stick with the hats. If you have any props such as baskets, chairs, socks even that you want your baby to be in. By all means bring them! I love props!! It can add so much to a photograph.
